Pratt & Miller Corvette C6RS Shines in Sunny St. Petersburg
First Convertible C6RS Featured in American Le Mans Series Vitesse Program at St. Petersburg Street Race
ST.PETERSBURG, Fla. - Corvette Racing's twin C6.R race cars were joined by a third bright yellow Corvette on the
streets of St. Petersburg during the American Le Mans Series street race on April 5. Pratt & Miller's first
convertible C6RS supercar was featured in the ALMS Vitesse ("Speed") program, giving special guests and VIPs
a taste of the machines that compete in America's premier road racing series. The limited-edition C6RS was the center
of attention as it made dozens of laps around the 1.8-mile temporary circuit on Tampa Bay and drew crowds of
enthusiasts in the ALMS paddock.
"Demonstrating the performance of the Pratt & Miller C6RS on the same circuit used by the ALMS race cars
showcased our philosophy," said Gary Pratt, co-owner of Pratt & Miller Engineering. "I drove the car from
Naples to the track with the air conditioning on and a CD playing. Then it turned dozens of hot laps for two full days
on a bumpy street circuit without a problem, and it was ready to drive back to Michigan after the race. With the C6RS,
we've achieved our goal of combining advanced racing technology with extraordinary comfort and reliability."
The convertible C6RS also broke new ground as the first C6RS with a paddle-shifted automatic transmission. The
transmission is upgraded to handle the 600 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque produced by the C6RS's Katech
Performance-built 8.2-liter (500ci) all-aluminum small-block V-8. The first C6RS customer cars have been delivered, and
orders are still being taken for Pratt & Miller's handcrafted Corvette supercar.
"With our in-house development program and the resources of our technical partners, we are continuing to push
the envelope of performance and luxury with the C6RS," Pratt said. "We've added a convertible and an
automatic transmission to the line, allowing a Corvette enthusiast to select any body style and powertrain. The
ArvinMeritor Dynamic Height Control suspension allows the driver to adjust the ride height from the cockpit for various
road conditions, and the Michelin tires provide exceptional grip in any type of weather. The Pratt & Miller
Corvette C6RS is truly a premium GT car for the street with the soul of the Corvette C6.R race car."
