Justin Bell is the son of Derek Bell five times Le Mans race winner. Justin and his father raced together in the 1992 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans. He failed to qualify for the 1996 Indianapolis 500 in a 4 year old Lola chassis. In 1997 Bell won the FIA GT2 Championship driving for the French Oreca team in a Viper GTS-R, he also drove for Oreca in 1998 and 1999 in the FIA GT and also at Le Mans from 1997 to 1999 the highlight being a class win in 1998.

In 2000 joined Corvette Racing for the whole season in ALMS plus Le Mans and Daytona. He finished 2nd overall at Daytona in his first race for the team. At Le Mans he collapsed due to heat exhaustion early on the Sunday afternoon at the end of his last stint in the car. Bell was replaced by Johnny O’Connell from 2001 onwards.
